The new frame and bodywork give a much slimmer and lighter feel to the WR250F, and there’s also a new lower and flatter seat that enables easy bodyweight shifting. The optimised ergonomics not only give you greater control by allowing you to get your weight where you need it, they also reduce fatigue – enabling you to perform at your best for longer.

With its enduro-specific construction, the new YZ250F-derived aluminium bilateral beam frame delivers sharper handling in a wide variety of riding conditions. Fitted with special engine mounting brackets that enhance rider feedback, this strong and light flex-tuned frame gives you outstanding agility with confident stability.

Using Yamaha’s Power Tuner smartphone app you can now fine-tune the WR250F via the onboard Wi-Fi. This easy to use system lets you create your own preferred fuel injection and ignition timing settings to suit different track and weather conditions. And you can view and share race logs, engine diagnostics, real-time monitoring and data back-up features.

The latest generation WR250F is powered by an all-new engine that has been developed from the race-winning YZ250F unit. Featuring a high compression piston, enduro-specific valve timing, revised porting and a new 12-hole fuel injector with a redesigned intake funnel, this high-performance engine delivers stronger torque throughout the rev range.

The new-generation engine is equipped with a specially-developed wide-ratio 6-speed transmission that makes the WR250F one of the most capable and versatile enduro bikes. From slow technical tracks through to high-speed riding, this durable gearbox enables you to achieve optimum performance.

When you accidentally stall or drop your bike you want to get going as quickly as possible, and with the powerful new 390W starter motor you can fire the engine back into life with minimal time lost. Located close to the machine’s centre, this light and compact new starter contributes towards the latest model’s reduced overall weight and helps to centralise the mass.

Equipped with larger diameter 25mm tubes and featuring new valving, the latest YZ250F-based front forks deliver outstanding speed sensitive performance. And with a lightweight spring and increased reservoir capacity, the new rear shock contributes towards the WR250F’s reduced weight and reaffirms its reputation as one of the best handling enduro bikes.

Enduro-riding has got to be one of the most severe tests for any transmission, but with the WR250F’s newly developed clutch you’re equipped to handle the most extreme terrain. Equipped with special knurled friction plates, the tough and lightweight clutch delivers consistent performance throughout the day.

The WR250F is “enduro-ready” straight out of the crate, and is prepared to attack the toughest terrain out there! Made from ultra-light resin, the larger skid plate offers a high level of protection to the frame, lower engine cases and water pump, and provides a nice smooth platform for gliding over rocks and tree stumps.

With its redesigned slimline bodywork, the new-generation WR250F looks and feels better than ever. Lightweight radiator shrouds enhance the bike’s strong racing heritage, and the strengthened rear fender and sidepanels emphasise its aggressive good looks.

When you’re riding all day long the track and weather conditions can change dramatically, and the WR250F’s 2-mode engine map switch allows you to alter the engine running character while riding. So whether it’s hardpack or deep mud, you can select the appropriate power mode.

With its front-facing intake system the WR250F is a very fuel-efficient bike, and for an even greater range between refills the new model is fitted with a larger capacity 7.9-litre fuel tank. The extra volume has been achieved by extending the tank downwards and using a more compact fuel pump, thereby centralising mass and keeping the bike as slim as possible.
